Strolling past the 11629th designer boutique at Marina Bay Sands, it is vital to recharge the body with some worthy calories. Unfortunately we are not reviewing the already well appraised Wolfgang Puck's restaurant but rather a Filipino cuisine stall humbly serving their diners at Rasapura Masters. (Umm yes, in layman's terms, it is really just your food court labelled with an 'atas' name.)
P.S: Pancit is a celebration dish per se, where Filipinos enjoy on birthdays, or in association with rite of passage in Catholic church. The noodles henceforth is a symbol of longevity and as a thumb of rule remember not to cut the noodles when cooking or eating pancit!
Chargrilled Squid (Inihaw na Pusit) with Adobo rice and Pancit
(+) Fresh squid and char-grilled (in terms of cooking time) to perfection, giving a firm and chewy texture.
(+) Mildly sweet sauce, made with soy sauce, honey/brown sugar, onions and spices.
(+) A very tasty marinade indeed, leaving you craving for the next bite. Oomph..
(+) Fragrant adobo rice, with bite-sized meat chunks. Very light and plain in flavors to complement the squid.
(+) The adobo rice, cooked from long-grain rice, has every grain evenly coated and tastes awesome standalone.
(+) Pancit (pronounced pun-sit), tender rice noodles balanced with crunch from chopped roasted peanuts.
(-) Stomach not enough.
Dulcetly flavoured squid + saporous authentic adobo rice + piquant pancit = umami blow delivered.
